|
| Michael Norris is thrilled to have the opportunity
to serve as Music Director for The Tallahassee Civic Chorale! Mike holds the Bachelor of Music in Music Education, and Master of Music degrees from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a pianist, organist, and singer; however, choral conducting is his musical passion. He annually participates in the Carnegie Hall Choral Workshop in New York, and is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association. One of Mike's favorite responsibilities is serving as Chorus Master of the new Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra Chorus, an auditioned chorus that Mike helped to create in October 2005. Prior to moving to Tallahassee, Mike held full time church music positions in Charlottesville, Virginia, and two locations in Georgia. A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Mike also enjoys musical theater and has worked as music director for productions with Tallahassee's Theater A La Carte. Choral groups under Mike's direction have performed in significant national venues such as the National Cathedral in Washington, Carnegie Hall and Saint Patrick's Cathedral in New York. |
